I have enjoyed riding the horses and also walking the horses. I love spending time with the animals.

When I come to the farm to join the academy I was really nervous and anxious. I soon got in to it and started to understand about educational needs and everyone around me. I have gained confidence to go back to a new school now and have a fresh start.

I helped use the tractor to clear the poo pile, I made a bonfire, put up some fencing, fixed a step, make a wooden tractor for the playground and saw all the animals. I helped fix poor drainage in the field. I made friends and had to listen lots. I really love coming here, it’s my best day.

I love my sessions at Tutsham Farm. Riding the ponies helps me to relax and stay calm. I feel very happy when I am around the animals and nature. I have made lots of new friends and everyone is super kind to me. Thursday’s are my favourite day of the week!

I like coming to the Academy because I can gave a lot of fun with the horses. I like that I am trusted when I am here. I really like the peace and quiet of the farm.

I love Team Tutsham becuase the horses are lovely and the staff made me more confident in my riding and knowledge with horses. It makes me happy when I am here.

Everyone is very kind, when I first came I was scared but now I am really happy to come and I look forward to it every week. When I’m here my worries go away, the horses make me feel safe and happy

I love the pigs! Sometimes they will roll onto their back for a tummy tickle which is great! Mouse is like a big dog who loves to be fussed. I have enjoyed giving him baths and fuss. He seems to really love the attention. I have enjoyed my time here and now I am happy to attend school again full time.

I advise you to come here because Jo, Mark and Juliette are fun, caring and help you achieve your goals. You will meet new horses, see the pigs, goats, sheep and chickens. I have helped do farm work and learnt skills for the future. You will wake up feeling excited when you know it’s your day for the farm!

I want to express my gratitude to the whole Tutsham family for always going above and beyond to support Abigail. She doesn’t leave the house for many things but is always counting down the days till she gets to visit again

Ethan has progressed in so many ways since starting his sessions at Tutsham Farm. From communication with his peers, to appreciation of the animals and their environments, to taking instructions and implementing them. I think the style of teaching is superb and is spot on for his needs

It’s great that you use different approaches for each individual. For example, using pictures and scribing. He has learnt lots of useful skills like using a tape measure to measure wood he had to cut.

He struggled to engage in conversation with unfamiliar people but we have seen this noticeably improve outside of the farm environment too. He is now ready to attend on site education full time again.

All tasks are adapted to suit the individual needs. Relationships have been built very quickly and naturally because of the careful pairing of pupils to staff.
