We Support

Non/Part-Time Education Attenders

We support children who find mainstream education a challenge by providing a safe and structured environment where they can learn, grow, and regain confidence. Through hands-on experiences with our ponies, they develop essential life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, problem-solving, and communication.

Our goal is to equip them with the work and social skills they need to return to full-time education, progress to college, or take steps toward employment empowering them for a brighter future.

Young People within the Care System

Our interventions provide vital support for children in the care system by helping them build trust, confidence, and essential life skills. Horses offer a non-judgmental, calming presence that encourages emotional regulation, responsibility, and social interaction.

Through hands-on experiences, children develop communication, problem-solving, and resilience in a structured yet engaging environment. The routine of caring for horses fosters stability, while the outdoor setting reduces stress and anxiety. Children are empowered to navigate challenges, boost self-esteem, and prepare for education, employment, or independent living.

Young People with Mild to Moderate Needs

Fresh air, open spaces, and meaningful interactions with animals can be truly transformative for young people with additional needs. Our farm provides a calm, supportive environment where they can build confidence and connection—whether through bonding with our horses, exploring our ancient woodlands, caring for farm animals, or tending the Team Tutsham Garden.

With tailored support, we help individuals navigate neurodiversity, mental health challenges, and physical impairments, empowering them to feel grounded, capable, and valued.

Empowering Young People for a Brighter Future

The transition from childhood to adulthood is a pivotal and often challenging time, particularly for vulnerable young people who may lack direction or support. The shift from school to college or the workplace can be overwhelming, but with the right guidance, this journey can lead to incredible opportunities.

At Tutsham Academy, we specialise in supporting vulnerable children as they grow into confident, prepared young adults. Our proven programmes equip them with the essential skills they need to succeed in a competitive world—whether their aspirations include attending college, pursuing an apprenticeship, or starting a career.

Our young people have gone on to thrive in diverse paths, including:
• Gaining places at colleges for Equestrian and Farming courses.
• Securing apprenticeships at prestigious Horse Racing Schools.
