I understand that the personal information I have provided will be processed and stored in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. In the event of an accident or injury, I understand that relevant information may be shared with emergency services, medical professionals, insurers, or other parties where necessary.
I understand that horse riding and all equestrian activities involve inherent risks and that horses and ponies are living animals whose behaviour can be unpredictable, even when well trained. I voluntarily choose to participate and accept these inherent risks. I agree to follow all instructions given by instructors and staff, comply with the riding school’s health and safety procedures, wear the required safety equipment, and ride within my ability. I confirm that I have disclosed any medical conditions or information that may affect my ability to ride safely.
I agree to treat all horses and ponies with kindness, patience and respect at all times, in accordance with the riding school’s Horse Welfare Policy. I understand that the welfare of the horses and ponies is the riding school’s highest priority and agree to handle, groom and ride them only as instructed by staff. I understand that, for the welfare of our horses and ponies, Team Tutsham operates rider weight and height limits and reserves the right to assess the suitability of each horse or pony for every rider. I understand that there may be occasions where a suitable horse or pony is not available for me to ride; however, where appropriate, I may still be able to participate in alternative activities, including in-hand work, stable management, horse care and other farm or yard-based activities. I understand that any behaviour considered abusive, neglectful, unsafe or likely to compromise the welfare of a horse or pony may result in the immediate termination of the lesson or activity without refund and, where appropriate, the suspension or termination of my membership or future participation.
I agree to conduct myself in a safe, respectful and considerate manner whilst on the yard. This includes treating staff, volunteers, other riders and visitors with courtesy, following all yard rules, respecting equipment and property, and behaving in a way that does not endanger, frighten or disturb horses or other people. I understand that the use of mobile phones, photography and video recording may be restricted in certain areas of the yard for reasons of safety, horse welfare, privacy and safeguarding, and I agree to comply with any instructions given by staff. I understand that inappropriate, aggressive, abusive or unsafe behaviour may result in being asked to leave the premises and may affect my ability to participate in future activities.
I understand that Team Tutsham reserves the right, in the interests of safety and horse welfare, to change the horse or pony allocated, change the instructor, refuse or stop a lesson, or ask any person to leave the premises if it is considered necessary. I may request an alternative horse or instructor where appropriate, although this cannot be guaranteed.
In the event of an accident or medical emergency where I am unable to give consent, I authorise the person in charge to arrange any emergency medical treatment considered necessary, including the administration of anaesthetic if required.
Nothing in this declaration excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law. By signing below, I confirm that I have read and understood this declaration, that the information I have provided is true and accurate, and, where signing on behalf of a rider under 18 years of age, I confirm that I am the parent or legal guardian and give permission for them to participate in riding activities.
