Maxine’s love for horses began at the age of 10, and she has been riding and competing ever since, achieving success at both local and higher-level shows. What started as a personal passion grew into a mission when she began providing a safe haven for horses and ponies in need. Word quickly spread, and as more horses were donated or purchased, Maxine realised she could combine her love for horses with her desire to help children.

This vision led to the creation of Team Tutsham Charitable Trust. With the need for larger facilities, the team moved to Tutsham Farm in West Farleigh, where Maxine’s dream of giving disadvantaged children in Kent a chance to learn, ride, and care for horses became a reality. Through her work, children not only develop equestrian skills but also gain confidence, form friendships, and connect with peers from diverse backgrounds.

As Co-Founder and Director of Operations, Maxine plays a key role in shaping the strategic direction and day-to-day delivery of Team Tutsham Charitable Trust. She oversees the charity’s governance, finances, and legal responsibilities, while ensuring the highest standards of equine welfare across all activities. Her leadership combines a strong commitment to organisational excellence with her passion for creating safe, inclusive, and transformative experiences for children and young people.

Maxine is proud to share her passion and knowledge with every child who visits, using her own journey to inspire and support the next generation. Her commitment to both horses and children remains at the core of everything Team Tutsham stands for.
